Ajanta Pharma has announced the launch of Viagra, an over-the-counter product in India, for sale in pharmacies in all over the country.
Viagra is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and is sold in most pharmacies for around £6 per tablet.
However, many online pharmacies will sell Viagra without a prescription.
Viagra is currently the only over-the-counter Viagra available without a prescription in India.
The product, which is based on sildenafil citrate, is available on prescription in most pharmacies.
In a regulatory review, a study published in the March 2018 issue of the journal Sexual Medicine revealed that Viagra could help men achieve and maintain erections if combined with other erectile dysfunction treatments such asKamagraandSilodosin.
However, the study authors noted that the combination of Viagra and Kamagra has only been studied in studies conducted with the drug alone and has not been shown to improve erectile function.
Viagra can be taken orally, but its efficacy has not been established in clinical trials.
The drug is available in India under the brand name ofSildenafil CitrateKamagra is a prescription-only medicine. A patient must not take a tablet containing the drug for more than five days without consulting their doctor.
Ajanta Pharma, a manufacturer of Viagra, has launched the product in all over the country.
However, in a review of the product in March 2018, the company noted that the drug does not come with a list of required doses.
The company pointed out that, although the manufacturer of Viagra had stated that the drug was suitable for all patients, the company had not found any published clinical trials with sildenafil citrate or any other PDE5 inhibitors.
“Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, but there is insufficient data to conclude whether it is as effective as Viagra in the treatment of erectile dysfunction,” the review stated.
Kamagra, another over-the-counter product, is sold only in most pharmacies, however, in most countries, a generic drug or a generic alternative is available.
